Hackers accessed data from over 29 million accounts as part of a security breach disclosed on September 2018. The hackers accessed names, email addresses or phone numbers and got even more data such as hometown, birthdate, the last 10 places they checked into, or the 15 most recent searches.
To find out if you are among the 29 million people whose information was accessed, you can click here to go to the Facebook help center. You need to be logged into Facebook. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll find details about your account in a blue box titled, "Is my Facebook account impacted by this security issue?"
“We previously announced a security incident on Facebook and want to provide an update on our investigation. We have now determined that attackers used access tokens to gain unauthorized access to account information from approximately 30 million Facebook accounts. We're very sorry this happened. Your privacy is incredibly important to us, and we want to update you on what we've learned from our ongoing investigation, including which Facebook accounts are impacted, what information was accessed and what Facebook users can do about this.”
