The Dirt Farmer Foundation is our way of focusing the social media power of the Dirt Farmer’s community to help worthwhile charities.
Our CAUSE it’s JUNE or Cause of the Month is:
***THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE UNITED STATES***
***Celebrate Animals, Confront Cruelty***
The Humane Society of the United States is the nation's largest animal protection organization and since 1954, they've been fighting for the protection of all animals through advocacy, education, and field work.
|
The HSUS is a mainstream voice for animals, with active programs in companion animals, wildlife and habitat protection, animals in research, and farm animals.
|
The HSUS protects all animals through legislation, litigation, investigation, education, science, advocacy, and field work.
And they rescue and care for tens of thousands of animals each year, but their primary mission is to prevent cruelty before it occurs.
|
The Humane Society of the United States and their affiliates provide direct care to more than 100,000 animals each year—more than any other animal welfare organization—through their sanctuaries, veterinary programs and emergency shelters and rescues.
|
The HSUS confront the largest national and international problems facing animals, which local shelters don’t have the reach or the resources to take on, such as animal fighting, puppy mills, horse slaughter and soring, seal killing and other forms of commercial slaughter of marine mammals, captive hunting and the wildlife trade, and inhumane slaughter and factory farming.
THE HSUS HAS: Five affiliated animal sanctuaries and medical centers Programs that provide veterinary care and other animal services to inner cities, and a veterinary affiliate that provides these services to Native American reservations Wildlife sanctuaries in more than 35 states. A global affiliate, Humane Society International, which runs programs in more than 20 countries. Learn more HERE

While the animals receive care and get a second chance at life, HSUS campaigns work to end the intentional cruelty and accidental suffering that result in abuse and injury to animals in the first place.
