**** HALLOWEEN SAFETY CAMPAIGN ****

Halloween is just around the corner and The Dirt Farmer Foundation would like to share a few safety tips for parents to help children have a fun and a safe Halloween. In addition its National Dental Hygiene Month therefore we encourage everyone to visit your dentist for a check-up and also support the non-profit organizations listed below that help kids and adults that cannot afford dental assistance. You can also get involved in charity by donating candy to shelters, children’s hospitals and even by participating in Halloween Charity Programs such as the Dentist Halloween Candy Buy-Back that sends candies to the troops overseas. Join this Cause, Spread the word, Share this message with your friends and have a HAPPY SAFE HALLOWEEN!

THE TEAL PUMPKIN PROJECT. Have you noticed teal pumpkins around town? There's a reason for the painted pumpkins and it's in an effort to help keep all kids safe this Halloween. Your teal pumpkin is also a way to raise awareness in your neighborhood about food allergies. Learn more HERE.

FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) is encouraging food allergy families to start a new tradition: painting a pumpkin teal and placing it on your porch as a sign to other families managing food allergies that you have non-food treats available at your home.

CANDY BUY-BACK
.
With the goal of removing excess Halloween candy from kids while supporting our troops, the Buyback is a great platform to help multiple causes while promoting your business! Learn more HERE.

The Ronald McDonald House helps keep severely ill kids and their parents together during treatment. After Halloween, most locations accept donations of unopened candy for the families being served. You can search for your local chapter on the website but call ahead to find out the rules for dropping off candy.

DONATE TO TROOPS OVERSEAS. Wouldn't it be cool if some of your candy went halfway around the world? Your Halloween candy could be included in care packages that are sent to soldiers serving their country far from home.

Here are a few organizations that ship packages to the troops. Heat-resistant candy only. Chocolate melts, you know! And don't forget to include a handwritten letter of support to really put a smile on a soldier's face! These Non-profits have Halloween Candy Programs: Operation Gratitute, Soldiers’ Angels, Operation Shoebox and Operation Stars & Stripes.

October is National Dental Hygiene Month therefore we encourage everyone to visit your dentist for a check-up and also support the non-profit organizations listed below that help kids and adults that cannot afford dental assistance.

Finally, don't forget about your local soup kitchen, homeless shelter, food pantry, retirement, or nursing home, or children’s hospital. Many take donations of unopened candy for residents and guests. It's worth calling to find out if they accept treats, which your kids can deliver with a note and a non-cavity-filled smile.

HAVE A HAPPY SAFE HALLOWEEN!
