Parisian Chicken Coop Confusion SOLVED!

Having trouble placing and using the new PARISIAN CHICKEN COOP in the BERRY MARKET? You are not alone. It seems to be creating quite a bit of confusion. It is not a Manicured Tree or a Decoration and yes it does work. Your Dirt Farmer team has a quick guide to the ins and outs of how coops work  for you to help resolve all of your issues. Special Thanks to Dirt Farmer Eric for assistance with images for this post and please share....

UPDATE! AS OF THE ENHANCE ON 5TH MAY, 2015 THE PARISIAN CHICKEN COOP NOW HAS A NAME THAT WILL DISPLAY WHEN YOU HOVER OVER IT. IT HAS ALSO BEEN REMOVED FROM THE MARKET, SO YOU CAN NO LONGER PURCHASE ONE, BUT IF YOU HAVE ONE IT WILL DISPLAY AS "PARISIAN CHICKEN COOP"

First of all to clear up the confusion and inaccurate information circulating around the item name. The MANICURED TREE and GLITTER TUTU CHICKEN are still available to redeem for berries. The new coop has not replaced either one of these. Zynga has simply forgotten to assign the coop a "friendly" (in-game) name so it displays the name of the item in the same spot on the prior page (We have contacted Zynga to request that they add one), which you will see depends on in which direction you are scrolling. For convenience here, we will use the coop's code name which is Parisian Chicken Coop.

If you are scrolling from left to right, the Manicured Tree is on the prior page in the same spot and you will see its name on the coop.

If you are scrolling from right to left, the Glitter Tutu Chicken is in the same spot and you will see its name on the coop.

The market will display the name of the item in the same spot on the prior page with ANY item that does not have an in-game name coded. If something else shows the name of an item that you are looking for, never worry, simply scroll back one page in the opposite direction from the one that you were going.
Secondly there appears to be confusion as to whether the Parisian Chicken Coop is a real coop. It is. It does NOT revert to a decoration when you remove the white chicken. With the oldest buildings in the game, like Chicken Coops and Stables, you do not have the option to "Look Inside" unless there is currently an animal inside the building. If you have removed the white chicken, simply place any other chicken in the coop and you will be able to look inside once again. The new coop works in exactly the same way as every other chicken coop in the game does, as far as the ability to look inside.

One difference in the Parisian Coop from any other - it is a ONE STAGE, 20 capacity coop. There are no expansions coded for it. We have also contacted Zynga to see if this was intentional or will change.

Lastly, we have received many reports of players getting WHOA FARMER when attempting to place the new coop. Luckily this can be resolved easily. The Parisian Coop works exactly the same as any other coop in the game other than the HOME FARM COOP.

What this means:

  • We are limited to a maximum of TWO Chicken Coops on any farm. This is a Chicken Coop like any other and cannot be a third coop on a farm.
  • Only the HOME FARM Coop can be placed on a farm that already has a chicken coop on it. You must place any special or farm specific chicken coop, including the Parisian Chicken Coop on the farm BEFORE placing any other coop.
  • If you would like the Parisian Chicken Coop, simply remove any other coops from the farm that you wish to place it on. Place the Parisian Chicken Coop and you can then add a HOME FARM Coop to the farm AFTER placing the Parisian Coop.
  • This method will allow you to place and use both, the Parisian and Home chicken coops on the same  farm without getting whoa farmer.

That's all for now. Stay Tuned to The Dirt Farmer for all the latest Farmville news and information.
