We hear you: A Message from the FarmVille Studio

We hear you: A message from the FarmVille Studio
by Heather Sinclair

I just wanted to send a quick note of appreciation to all the loyal players that listened to last week’s Dirt Farmer LIVE! podcast and sent in suggestions. A special thanks to the Dirt Farmer for hosting and letting us join the community conversation. Based on what we talked about in the podcast, and what players mentioned on the chat, we’re in the process of making some updates to FarmVille that we hope you’ll love. We expect all of these to be completed by the end of November.

We are also working on many of the issues players have raised in the comments from the recent Dirt Farmer posts on Farm bugs/issues and Missing Farm Cash. Check out some of the updates below and let us know what you think.

As a team, we really take pride in listening to players and making active changes based on their feedback. So, keep the ideas coming, and thanks for playing and let’s keep the conversation going.

Recent FarmVille Updates:
· We’ve increased gift cap in the message center from 50 to 100 (Done as of Monday!)
· We’re updating Mystery Egg Loot Tables
· We’re adding more confirmations to common in-game purchase flows above 10 Farm Cash to help players avoid accidental purchases
· We’re in the process of fixing a problem that was causing players to not get sufficient mystery treasure parts from Ask For Parts requests
· This is a big one that I know many players ask for. We’re adding more coin expansions for older farms! Stay tuned!
· We’re adding Super Crops for Wheat and Rice
· We’re making it so that you can remove neighbors who have blocked FV or un-friended you
· We’re re-adding multi-place seedlings from the marketplace
· We’re releasing Beat Atlantis

And that’s just some of the items on the way. Stay tuned for more and thanks everyone for the fantastic suggestions!

  1. A big Kudos to all persons involved in making Dirt Farmer the best site for farmville related news. You guys are awesome and without your zealous commitment, none of would have transpired. :)

  2. it was about time to do these things, we have been waiting about 2 year for a coin expansion and long for a " Beat Atlantis ", of course it can take another year before Zynga really does what they are announcing !!!

  5. Hi Heather! :) Thanks for taking the time to interact w/ The Dirt Gardener & thanks for sharing all the improvements. Since you've made yourself publicly available here, I hope you don't mind me bending your ear w/ a HUGE problem no one seems able to fix! :( My farms stopped loading on Thursday, Oct. 31. Ironically that's Halloween, one of my fave holidays. On the afternoon of the 31st, I could access FarmVille via Facebook but my farm showed nothing but green empty space & gray shadows where all the animals, trees, & buildings should be. Today is Wednesday, Nov. 6 -- it's been almost a FULL WEEK & my farms still won't load. I am DEAD in the water. :( LOCKED OUT.

I submitted a support request ticket & I heard back 3 times from 2 different support representatives, which I really do appreciate. (I emailed them back & the responded) I especially appreciate Roy Vincent, who wrote a very personalized, very validating message to me, not at all a form letter. He was very kind. HOWEVER, all the assurances in the world that my problem is being worked on doesn't really help me when all I want to do is play the game! Also, how can it take 6 days to fix a simple loading problem? I assume my farms are saved to a server that's malfunctioning; can my account simply be migrated to another server? This is NOT a problem on my end; I verified this by dumping my Flash Player cache in my computer's Control Panel and also dumping the browser caches of Firefox, Chrome & IE. Then I tried accessing FarmVille via those 3 browsers but nothing changed; nothing worked. Then I had a friend come over & use my same computer & my same web browser to sign into her Facebook & then try to access her farms. She had NO problem; everything was PERFECT. And that was using my computer & my browsers. So clearly the problem has to do with where my farms are saved on Zynga's end of things.

I JUST WANT MY FARMS BACK! Please help me -- I don't know where else to turn. :( I'm a Level 150 player who has played for 3+ years, has spend hundreds of dollars on FarmCash & has recruited dozens of friends to play the game. I've already missed out on nearly a week of timed quests and other features that I will NEVER be able to get back. There are so many prizes and rewards that I had my eye on, and now I've lost all my chances of earning them. It's been 6 days. Please help me get my farms back! Thank you!

    1. Hi Shari... Sorry to know that you are unable to play... But this is not the post to mention your issues... It might go ignored here... Instead, go to our 'Report Farm Bugs' post and comment there along with your Facebook UID (Instructions on the post)... That one is being tracked by Zynga (especially Heather Sinclair) and will surely be getting better response...

    2. Thanks Prashanth! :) Thanks for the fast reply, and also for the link to the URL. I just left a comment there; I'm hoping this will finally help me get my farms back. I'm signing this from my Google account because for some reason Google is not able to validate my identity using LiveJournal, even though that's how I commented yesterday. Thanks again for helping me out with that URL. :) You are awesome!

  6. Heather, THANK YOU!! I appreciate everything that's being done to make this the BEST game in the world, again. Some house cleaning needed to be done. Do I expect it to be problem free??? Of course not. I am an avid player, 12 - 14 hours, 7 days a week, most weeks! Retired, disabled and love Farmville!!

    DirtFarmer, you guys are GREAT!!
    Hugs,
    Carol

  7. Heather, thank you for changing the way Zynga cares. I am also a daily player since the first Halloween 4 years ago. I work in web support myself and see the hiccups in the game but learn to just deal with it. I seem to anylize this game so much I get wrapped up in it way to much when I should be doing laundry. What bothers me is when I pay for FC and see it is being taken away because of glitches in the game, That can be somewhat annoying. I noticed it when Zynga brought out the Dairy Barn, hovering the mouse over an item to complete, I saw my FC drop each time and decided after losing so much of it, I gave up on that play. I am wondering when I am going to get the 100 FC back from this lose, I paid for it, I play fair, enjoy more designing my farms and focus on one thing at a time. I use no cheat bots and feel this is not something I did myself. I appreciate your help. I also reviewed your posting here tonight on up coming changes and WOW, that sounds good. Keep making the changes and tell your new CEO, thanks for showing that they care about the complaints.

    4. Give them some time to check and reply back Richard... When the GM is herself checking on stuff even after her busy schedules, it can sometimes take a little time :)

    5. I know what ya mean, patience is a virtue. Working in web support myself I know an issue/bug takes time so I will wait. Thank you for this great sight your team creates for us players, always sharing with my group important links. Keep it up.

  8. Ok, this is about a fix. In the single farm crafting cottages like Sugar Shack or Coral Cafe, when a recipe gets leveled up by a purchase from a neighbor, the amount of times you times you need to level up for a coin upgrade does not decrease. This seemed to begin with the release of the Australia farm. It was because of this that I had not interest in completing quests or buildings. All I use it for is to plant crops that take days instead of hours to mature. I would rather not sell any goods at all and level them up by crafting them. At least I would get to my coin upgrade sooner. But to my thinking the bushel swap has been the best thing lately. I can swap my useless bushels for for the ones I need to craft goods, parts, or consumables. I do hope that you will check into the problem issue soon. Thanks in advance.

    1. Thanks for posting this issue here but you would get better response posting it on the Report Farm Bugs post instead, which is being tracked by Zynga too:
