Farmville has recently released the Dairy Crafting Feature to our farms. This is an all new self-sufficient crafting feature in which you can obtain and create everything you need within the same building. Check out the details below and please do share with friends if you find the post helpful
When the feature is released to you, you will receive the following pop-up to place the building.
You can place a Dairy Crafting building on every farm if you so choose for easier access, but all will consistently show the same stage of readiness. You can also access your dairy farm from the icon where your mastery tab and ribbons are located.
First, a look at the various stages of the building as you level it up.
Stations
Upon placing the building, and looking inside you will notice two different sets of stations.
The top station contains harvestable items, from which you can obtain raw ingredients. You will start with a cow that harvests for milk and as the building progresses you will unlock additional stations. The unlockable stations and their products are as follows. (Mouse over for item names)

Harvests in 2 minutes

Harvests in 4 minutes

Harvests in 2 minutes
Harvests in 2 minutes
Harvests in 3 minutes
Harvests in 5 minutesRaw ingredients which come from the harvestable items are stored in your silo.
This is not the same as the silo already on the farms, but simply a storage component of the self-contained Dairy Crafting feature. Your Dairy Crafting silo will start with a capacity of 10 and can be enlarged with the following parts. (Mouse over for item names)

Each expansion requires 10 of each part, and grants you 10 extra spaces. Expansions continue until the silo reaches it’s maximum capacity of 1000. Parts to enlarge the capacity of your silo are randomly granted as prizes for filling orders or can alternately be purchased for farm cash. If you have not been able to expand and your silo becomes full, simply sell some of your items or craft a recipe to free up space.
The bottom station contains crafting stations in which you can combine raw ingredients, along with other crafted ingredients to make recipes. When you receive the feature, the butter churn will be available to you to craft butter from milk. Other crafting stations are unlocked as you fill orders and level up your building. The unlockable stations and their products are as follows. (Mouse over for item names)

Goods from machines are stored in your barn.
The barn for storing these is also contained within the feature and not something that is out on your farm. The barn for ingredients from machines will also begin with a capacity of 10 and can be enlarged with the following parts.

Like the silo, each expansion requires 10 of each part, and grants you 10 extra spaces. Expansions continue until the barn reaches it’s maximum capacity of 1000. Parts to enlarge the capacity of your barn are randomly granted as prizes for filling orders or can alternately be purchased for farm cash. If you have not been able to expand and your barn becomes full, simply sell some of your items or craft a recipe to free up space.
Orders
As you fill their orders, you will level up your building, unlock new stations and earn prizes.
Mouse over the character to see what they are seeking to order from you. When you have everything needed to fill the order, the farm cash icon to purchase remaining supplies will change to “fill order.” You can see the prizes you will earn for filling all orders at the bottom left side of your screen.
Simply click fill order and if it grants you enough points to reach the next level of the building, you will receive a popup so indicating. If you have completed the last in your current series of orders, you will also receive a popup indicating the prize that you have won. Once you have leveled up, it’s possible to have as many as 12 orders at once, but keep in mind, it’s not a race. Orders will remain until they are filled.
Prizes
Possible prizes for this feature are as follows and are awarded randomly for filling different orders or sets of orders.

yawn
ReplyDeleteyou don't need to put the building down anywhere. I'm on level 5 and my dairy is still in the gift box
ReplyDeleteSomeone asked this, but still no one answered, and I was wondering the same thing... Is there a way to expand this thing, without having to spend FV cash? I know there has to be a way... because of the three items needed to expand, the middle is full already, but I never spent FV cash to add them, and I didn't ask for the parts or etc... 0/10 Ice Blocks, 12/10 Thermometers, & 0/10 Milk Bottles this is mine, and again I never paid or asked for the thermometers, but I have no idea where they came from to start expanding the dairy either.
ReplyDeleteyou can get parts by completing orders.
DeleteKeep filling orders. As you fill more orders...you will get supplies needed to expand without buying them for fv cash.
Deleteas you level up the dairy you get extra space
ReplyDeleteThe only expansions I see are FV cash. Unable to fill orders as silo and barn are both full? How do I get passed that without spending cash?
ReplyDeleteI'm on level 14 and still did not get the ice to do the expansion on the silo. I try to watch ,and harvest as I need it .If full I sell something.
DeleteAs I've been progressing in the game, both my silo and barn have been expanding on their own as I reach higher levels. I also did accumulate enough parts free to expand the silo once that way, too.
DeleteI don't think the expansions are working right. I have 24 of 1 thing and 10 of another and 0 for the 3rd thing in the silo. I am at level 15. It is going to be harder to get much higher because I don't have the space I need. And I am NOT buying any parts. I feel zynga has gotten very greedy in the last few months and has robbed some of my friends of their farm cash with that stupid you got a treasure. And that fishing pond is awful!! I hope I get what I need for the silo soon. I will stop using it if it doesn't..
ReplyDeleteYou will have to sell some stuff and keep filling orders to expand without paying.
DeleteSame problem with the so called "randomly generated prizes" needed to expand barn & silo. I have 1 order left out of 8 to complete and will still be level 13. So far I have 24/10 Dairy Shelf, 0/10 Ice Cream Scoopers, 0/10 Cheese Cloths needed to expand Barn. The Silo I have 12/10 Ice Blocks, 0/10 Thermometers, 0/10 Milk Bottle and have not been able to expand. I strongly suggest instead of "random" we should get parts required to expand as we level up. I don't need so many multiples of cheese, milkshake, etc trees...I NEED EXPANSION PARTS.
ReplyDeleteWell, some you clearly don't need a crafting building to make WHINE.....
ReplyDeleteThe expansion parts are random. Period. They won't expand equally.
Hey Anonymous February 19th at 10:34 AM: did you take your "strong suggestion" directly to zynga, or did you just pout about it here on a fan site? Because nobody here really gives a crap what you think or what you want.
ReplyDeleteNot whining but I have worked hard on this Dairy...Current Level 22 and only once have I got parts needed to expand...I have spent FVC 1 time to expand the barn....Need more storage without spending hard earned farm cash.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm right its the milk bottles that is stopping everyone from expanding the raw cause I'm at 17 and thats what I still need to expand it...............the barn I'm at 30 there so unless you spend cash for the milk bottle's that's where it will remain other wise do like I do make what you need for the barn side and only harvest what you need for the silo and so far no problems
ReplyDeleteMe too... milk bottles. I am level 22, and I do the same thing, only harvest what I need at the moment.
DeleteI am on level 106 and you can do this without paying fc, you just get parts randomly and you work it according to what you have and need. Do not fill up things if you do not need it yet. always give yourself some room and as you get more, the xp point rack up. My level on my farm goes up at least once if not twice a day and your levels on your dairy go up as well quickly. I paid to upgrade once for 10 fc and I got that from watching the videos on bottom of farm. whenever they are there, you can get farmcash without buying it, takes a few minutes. 1 night I got 28 farmcash because they had a lot of them and several kept repeating, I did it till it stopped, refreshed my farm and got 28 farmcash. The dairy is not a race, it is to take your time and have something to fill time. It can be done, it is all about your attitude.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous March 19th: I wish you were (or hope you are) one of my FV friends. You get it perfectly; no griping; no whining. just a good attitude and a logical approach. Kudos!
ReplyDeleteMy dairy is now at level 72. My barn holds 30 items, the silo still at 10. I haven't purchased anything but I guess from reading all the above comments, have just been lucky enough to get the parts needed for a barn expansion.
ReplyDeleteMy method.......I just keep making items, even if I don't need them. It seems to be working for the barn at least. When I reach my max level, I sell something until my barn will once again hold the dairy products I'm making. This seems to be working great. The last time I got my new set of orders, I instantly filled 5 of them and only had to make an additional Mozzarella cheese to fill the 6th. Things like Kefir and the flavored Kefirs are great to have on hand, you save a lot of time getting orders filled. After my orders are filled, I try to make the things that give the most points like cheddar cheese.
I don't know if this is the best way to work this but it does seem to be working for me
There are no farmers on mine asking for orders guess mine just doesn't work, don't know what to do
ReplyDeleteThere are no "cartoon-like characters" across the bottom of your dairy when you open it? When you mouse over them an order will pop up.
DeleteAnonymous March 19th and 29th and perkypet... I agree with all of you ... I think I am lvl 31 or 32 and I make a few things ahead (but not too many) so I can fill orders when a new batch comes up; if barn is too full, sell extra simple items to make room ... I do wish that I could get SOME silo parts ... have none at all, but barn is at 30 capacity ... with careful planning I have plenty of room to craft items and fill orders. I am kind of peeved that I filled 6 or 7 orders from stock on hand a few days before the "fill orders" leaderboard came out. Also not thrilled that players at a lower level can complete their orders more quickly than I can ... they have no gelatto to make from flavored kefirs etc etc. Overall I enjoy this feature.
ReplyDeletei am up to level 70 and i still can only store up to 30 items and that is it. they will not give you anything to expand unless you buy it with farmville cash only what a crock
ReplyDeletethe fact that all of you let the cat out of the bag about being able to level up faster with the dairy barn i think made Zynga realize there wasa glitch and they now fixed it and it sucks
ReplyDeleteFarmville, that stupid game where all the fun is fixed. I left it two years ago and I started to play it again in february. I received the Dairy and I was very happy leveling up each day, it was so funny. I've stopped playing again now, I'm tired, there isn't any fun in this boring "game".
