DF Tips – For Better Gameplay (Vol 1)

DF Tips for gameplay
Hi there farmer… Hope that you are having a farmtastic day… Nope? Having issues with your farm? Well, then you have come to the right place… We are starting a series of certain quick tips that can not only help fix some of the most common gameplay issues (not the in-game bugs), but may also enhance your gameplay by making it faster and smoother. Interested? This is just a first in the series of much more to come… Read on…

The Basics:

Often we are faced with complaints of game lags and slow gameplay, resulting in OSS issues now and then, while others are still enjoying their game… The main reason for this can be attributed to 2 things…
  1. The Browser Cache
  2. The Browser itself
Lets come to the first one… The ‘browser cache’ is a place where most of your online data is stored so that you can browse faster, and better, with ease… But sometimes, over a period of time, things get accumulated and hence the so called helpful cache, actually becomes the troublemaker, resulting in slower internet experience, and hence affecting gameplay… Even when playing the game, the game stores some of the info in the cache, and then uses it as a reference for faster access, but due to ever changing things in the game and the browser/flash versions, the old data is still being referenced by the new updates, and this causes issues due to the mismatch… So, a very good habit is to clean your cache on a regular basis, even if everything is working fine for you… Click here to see a small guide on how to clean your cache…

Coming to the second reason now… Sometimes, an ‘age old browser’ itself can be the cause of the issues… Make sure that you have the latest versions of your browsers, and also flash player… Click here to see how to know if you have the latest flash player and how to update it… As for updating your browsers, you will need to go to their respective sites to check for the updates… Most windows based computers come pre-loaded with Internet Explorer, but we strongly suggest you to either use Google Chrome or Firefox for playing flash games as they handle flash components better… Click respective logos below to take you to their website:

Google Chrome   Firefox   Internet Explorer   Opera

Just as important it is to clear your browser cache, its also important to clear your flash cache, as Farmville, or any other online social game for that matter, is a flash intensive game and having it clean can help enhancing gameplay and also avoid errors. To do this, just click the below image to take you to the flash player settings panel… You should get the following option in the page… Just click on the ‘Delete all sites’ button and confirm the same in the next popup… You are done… Now, was that not simple?

Click to go to Flash Player Control Panel

Well, that’s all for now… We shall keep making regular posts in this series from time to time… Don’t forget to share with your friends and help enhance their gameplay too…

    1. Chrome has inbuilt features that automaticallt update flash player on a regular basis... So you need not worry much... But chrome does not update itself automatically, so you better check for browser updates atleast once in a month if not more frequent...

    1. Every major antivirus software will usually publish updates whenever there are any updates to any of the major browsers, so as to make itself compatible with them, else they will lose market share which they dont want yo... We would suggest you to even check for updates to your antivirus in due course as only updates software, either browser or antivirus, will give you the best experience as well as security...

    2. try Microsoft security essentials, all ways stays updated and does a great job at protecting from virus and spam.Way better than Norton, used Norton yrs ago and it let a lot of hidden stuff slip past,Microsoft security essentials doesn't, very tight guard and free to download.

  5. Has anyone noticed that FB is limiting the number of FV posts we can now make to our walls?

  6. Now that you mention it, I did notice late last night that several of my FV posts diidn't appear on my wall or the feed. I thought it was just the Timeline messing up more things. If that's true, it sure is gonna suck cause they'll be invisible to our neighbors. What the hell is up with Facebook these days - getting crazy around here!!!

    2. the settings for a Mac are just about the same if you're using Safari, but Google Chrome is a better browser to use on a Mac. Safari is just a little slower...
